YOU’LL NEVER BELIEVE THIS HUMAN MOWING MACHINE

Have you ever heard of an international hand mowing competition? As it so happens, each and every year mowing aficionados gather in the United States as well as across Europe to test their grass cutting mettle. What we have here are two of the competitors, one with a type of push mower and the other deciding to go a little old fashioned… with a scythe.

What makes this great is that not only is he managing to do a good job with keeping the grass level, but he manages to outpace and beat the machinated mower thanks to a mechanical issue (or it just got stuck).
Next time you got to mow your lawn, we are in the spring months after all; see how fast you can finish, maybe you’re the next international mowing champion!

The US Finally Admits Cannabis Kills Cancer Cells

[caption id="attachment_974" align="aligncenter" width="700"]The US Finally Admits Cannabis Kills Cancer Cells The US Finally Admits Cannabis Kills Cancer Cells[/caption]

A group of federal researchers commissioned by the government to prove that cannabis has “no accepted medical use” may have unwittingly let information slip through the cracks, revealing how cannabis actually kills cancer cells.

The research, which was conducted by a team of scientists at St. George’s University of London, found that the two most common cannabinoids in marijuana, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD), weakened the ferocity of cancer cells and made them more susceptible to radiation treatment, said Mike Adams of Herbal Dispatch.

The study, which was published last year in the medical journal Molecular Cancer Therapies, details the “dramatic reductions” in fatal variations of brain cancer when these specific cannabinoids were used in conjunction with radiation therapy.

“We’ve shown that cannabinoids could play a role in treating one of the most aggressive cancers in adults,” wrote lead researcher Dr. Wai Liu, in a November 2014 op-ed for The Washington Post. “The results are promising… it could provide a way of breaking through glioma [tumors] and saving more lives.”

“Recent animal studies have shown that marijuana can kill certain cancer cells and reduce the size of others,” the NIDA report said. “Evidence from one animal study suggests that extracts from whole-plant marijuana can shrink one of the most serious types of brain tumours. Research in mice showed that these extracts, when used with radiation, increased the cancer-killing effects of the radiation.”

NIDA’s newfound pro-pot position is especially curious given that it was revealed on the heels of a recent proposal introduced to both Congress and the House of Representatives which attempts to legalize medical marijuana on a national level. The bill, which is called the CARERS Act, seeks to downgrade the Schedule I status of marijuana to a Schedule II in order to make the herb more flexible in the eyes of the federal government as an accepted form of medicine.

In addition, the bill would also remove cannabidiol, the non-intoxicating compound of the pot plant, from the Controlled Substances Act and allow it to be distributed on a state-to-state basis without violating federal statutes.

Cannabis became a schedule I drug in 1970 with the passing of the Controlled Substances Act, which classified cannabis as having a high potential for abuse, no medical usage, and unsafe to use without medical supervision.

This federal research basically contradicts cannabis’ schedule I status. Could this mean reform is closer than we’d originally imagined?

How to Overcome Binge Eating Disorder Using the Power of Thought

[caption id="attachment_963" align="alignnone" width="670"]How to Overcome Binge Eating Disorder Using the Power of Thought How to Overcome Binge Eating Disorder Using the Power of Thought[/caption]

Binge eating disorder is a serious health condition that causes us to always want to eat, even when we are not hungry. We often do not take eating disorders as serious as other health conditions, because most of us generally do not see eating disorders as serious medical conditions. Because of this belief, we often fail to see how binge eating disorder negatively affects the health of our loved ones.

Symptoms and effects of binge eating disorder

Like any addiction, binge eating disorder or binge eating is an addiction that can cause serious health problems if it is not treated properly. This overeating condition causes us to eat uncontrollably, which can lead to high cholesterol, diabetes, heart disease, stroke, obesity, and psychological problems.

Binge eating can cause us to rely too much on food to prevent our mind from thinking about certain issues that we do not want to face. This can lead to feelings of shame and a lack of confidence. These negative effects of overeating can destroy our relationship by negatively affecting our job and breaking our trust with family members and friends.

Common symptoms of binge eating disorder are:

Overeating
Depression
Low self-esteem
Frequently eating alone
Hiding food
Mood swings
Stress
How to overcome binge eating disorder using the power of thought

Thought is the energy that shapes and paints the world you live in. In other words, it plays a very important role in your perception of reality. The way you think affects everything you do, because before you can act on anything, you have to think about it first.

The types of thoughts that often trigger overeating behaviors are thoughts about food, stress, boredom, and tiredness. In some people, negative thoughts about the shape of their bodies can trigger overeating behaviors. To prevent these thoughts from causing you to want to eat food all the time, you need to learn how to effectively direct and control them before they cause you to eat food.

One of the first steps to learn how to direct and control your thoughts is to be more aware of them. Learning to increase your awareness is an effective way to be more aware of your thoughts. This will allow you to sense more of your subconscious thoughts.

Most of your addictions occur in your subconscious, so if you want to overcome your binge eating disorder, you need to learn how to be more aware of your subconscious addictions. Also, avoid watching the news and shows on TV as much as possible, because they contain a lot of subliminal messages related to food, especially junk food and fast food.

Food addiction is a misunderstanding of food related desires that make you temporarily happy. When you do not understand these desires, you tend to be addicted to them because they give you a false sense of happiness. This kind of happiness is temporary which is why it never satisfy your addiction to food. For effective ways to overcome food addiction, read this informative article titled How to Break Food Addiction.

Other ways to overcome binge eating disorder

Psychotherapy

This therapy is a type of cognitive and behavioral therapy that focuses on helping people find ways to overcome mental and health conditions that are negatively affecting their lives. Psychotherapy is often used to treat chronic stress, emotional problems, relationship issues, financial stress, and eating disorders.

Turning to psychotherapy to help you deal with binge eating disorder has many benefits. Your psychotherapist is trained to help you solve your personal problems by listening to your needs and finding effective ways to help you overcome your food addiction.

Hypnotherapy

Hypnosis is popular for treating emotional issues, mental problems, chronic pain, and eating disorders. During a hypnotherapy session, your hypnotherapist will ask you questions about your problems, so that he or she can understand what your needs are. If your problem is related to binge eating, your hypnotherapist will try to find ways to help you detox your mind of binge eating behaviors.

To help you overcome a food addiction, your hypnotherapist will use hypnosis, a hypnotic induction technique designed to put your mind in a deeply relaxed state. This trance state allows you to open a stronger connection to your subconscious. This allows your hypnotherapist to guide you to reprogram your mind to a certain level and therefore helping you to overcome the food addiction.

Learn to control your emotions

Emotions are cognitive abilities that allow you to understand life through feelings. These feelings can help you to overcome many challenges in life. However, when they are used in negative ways, they can negatively affect your behavior.

Negative emotions are some of the main reasons why you experience eating disorders. To learn how to control your emotions, you need to be more aware of them, so that you can consciously direct them in a way that benefits you. By learning how to control and clear your negative emotions, you can prevent them from triggering your appetite for food.

Eat healthy food

Choosing healthy food over junk food and fast food is a great way to help you overcome binge eating disorder. Junk food and fast food often have addictive ingredients that are great for conditioning your mind to eat more food. These ingredients are also great for destroying your health, which can lead to obesity, stress, depression, and other health condition.

When you eat more healthy food, you are less likely to feel shameful about your self-image. This will make it easier for you to overcome binge eating disorder and food addiction.

Feeling Low Energy and Tired All The Time? Try This Out!

Feeling Low Energy and Tired All The Time? Try This Out!

lowenergy_compressed

One thing that I’ve noticed over the years is that sometimes my habits have caused me to get into a low energy state.  For example, perhaps I’ve been feeling down in the dumps about something, so I’ll sit or lay down a lot, lower my rate of productivity and generally “space out.”  As a result, my energy slows and I’ve had a harder time pulling myself together.  When this has happened in the past, I’ve gotten into a state of feeling low energy and tired all of the time.

This low energy state can be hard to pull ourselves out of if we are unaware of how our actions contribute to our energy levels.  While we might feel compelled to sit or lay down, be quiet, and veg out, these actions actually compound the slowing of our energy, and cause us to feel even more tired and unproductive.

Fortunately, I’ve found a remedy that works for me in low energy times.  If you are feeling low energy and tired all of the time, give it a whirl and see if it works for you too!

Now, I realize that when your energy is low, some of the things I am going to recommend will probably feel like the absolute last things that you will want to do.  So the trick is this, pick one thing from the list that feels like something you could do.  Do it, take a break, and then pick another thing off of the list.  Slowly, but steadily, keep crossing items off of the list, taking breaks as needed.

The reason that you will want to start small is that energy moves by the principle of inertia.   The slower energy is going, the harder it is to make it go fast.  The faster energy is moving, the harder it is to slow it down.  So, the goal here is to gradually build up momentum, like those first few, slow pedals on the bike when you are just getting started and haven’t yet ramped up any speed.

That being said, here are a few things that I’ve found can speed up energy momentum.  When you are feeling like you are in a low energy state, gradually pick items from this list.  Look at them as individual pedals on the bike.  As you take one after another, your energy will begin to build, and each task will become easier than the one before it.

Actions to Take When Feeling Low Energy

1. Get some sunlight and fresh air:

I live in Florida, so this one is a natural for me, but even if you don’t live in an area of the world with a great deal of sunshine, try to make an effort to get outside for at least 20 minutes.  Sunshine and fresh air are naturally stimulating, and unfortunately, for so many of us, when we are down in the dumps we tend to stay inside, depriving ourselves of these natural energy boosters.

2. Listen to fast, upbeat music:

Put your headphones on or turn on the car radio and find some high energy music.  Again, you will probably not feel like listening to high energy music, but listening to fast music will naturally get your blood flowing quicker.

3. Get some light exercise:

It could be as simple as a walk around the neighborhood, but exercise is critical.  Make sure to get out of bed, or out of your seat and move around for a few minutes to get your blood circulating.

4. Attend to your personal grooming:

We tend to let our appearance go to the dogs when we are in a low energetic state.  Even if you just get up for a few minutes, put yourself together, and go sit back down again you will feel a little bit stronger and more capable to cross another item off of this list.

Grooming also has the added benefit that it will make you more likely to leave your house when you are feeling down.  Most of us don’t want to be seen when we are looking rough, so putting ourselves together makes the idea of being out and about less daunting.

5. Clean up a little:

Tidy up your surroundings.  You don’t have to do a complete Spring cleaning routine, but look around for one small mess or area of clutter in your home or workspace and clean it up.  You will feel better when you look around and things are cleaner and less cluttered.

The more things there are for you to clean up, the better.  So if your home or workspace is very messy or cluttered, good!  This gives you a lot more “pedals on the bike” to ramp yourself up as you feel ready to tackle them.

6. Run a quick errand:

Go to the bank, head over to the grocery store or get your hair cut.  Get something on your “to do” list crossed off.

7. Eat something healthy:

Eat some whole, organic foods that are nutrient and energy rich like blueberries, spinach, black beans, red peppers or any other kind of high energy food.  Even if you prefer to eat potato chips and cookies, adding a few healthy foods into the mix will help build energy in your body.

Again, when we are feeling like we are in a low energy state, we usually become fairly listless and sit down, lay around a lot, and reduce our rate of productivity.  This slows the inertia of our energy, making it harder to get back into a high vibrational state.

So the goal here is to gradually build momentum.  Pick one item off of the list above, do it, and then take a break.  Then do another, and repeat the process.  Eventually what will happen is that you will find your energy building and building until you are back into a higher vibrational state.  After a little bit of initial work, items on this list will no longer seem overwhelming, and you’ll wake up in the morning eager to tackle what lays in front of you because you know it will actually make you feel good.

Please keep in mind, I do realize that some people have medical and psychological conditions that may be underlying causes for low energy.  In the event that you have a condition that requires professional treatment, please use these strategies in addition to your regular care.

Fascinating Evidence Shows Why Water Fasting Could Be One Of The Healthiest Things You Can Do

Fascinating Evidence Shows Why Water Fasting Could Be One Of The Healthiest Things You Can Do

[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="1920"]Fascinating Evidence Shows Why Water Fasting Could Be One Of The Healthiest Things You Can Do Fascinating Evidence Shows Why Water Fasting Could Be One Of The Healthiest Things You Can Do[/caption]

**Please be advised that you should properly research how to fast if it’s something you are considering. This is just a tidbit of information that’s out there.  If you have pre-existing health conditions, fasting may not be right for you. Make sure and do your research before embarking on something like this.

Fasting is the process  of abstaining from food (and drink in some cases) for extended periods of time. It’s a practice that dates back thousands of years, utilized by various cultures around the world throughout human history for multiple purposes. These reasons include both health and spiritual reasons, which will be touched upon later in this article.
“Fasting is the first principle of medicine; fast and see the strength of the spirit reveal itself.” - Rumi

Today, fasting is considered to be taking place if you don’t eat for a period of at least 8-12 hours. So technically, most of us are participating in a period of fasting every night when we sleep. In the morning, we break our fast, this is where the term breakfast comes from. Animals are constantly fasting, especially when they are sick. In fact, humans are the only animals who eat when they are sick despite their body telling them not to do so.
“Everyone has a doctor in him; we just have to help him in his work. The natural healing force within each one of us is the greatest force in getting well. …to eat when you are sick, is to feed your sickness.” - Hippocrates

Contrary to popular belief, fasting isn’t dangerous or unhealthy if it’s done properly, it’s actually healthy and beneficial.

A Brief Summary Of What Happens To Your Body When You Fast

When you fast, the body is deprived of its normal source of energy, food, by turning it into glucose. The liver stores lots of sugar, in a form called glycogen, which is used for energy when the body isn’t taking in any of the food. Most of this energy source is depleted within the first 24 hours of fasting.

After this, the body switches into a state known as ketosis, which uses the body’s fatty acids as fuel in replacement of the depleted glucose levels. This change usually begins on the second day, most likely ending on the third. What happens here is that the body converts glycerol, which is available in the body’s fat stores, into glucose for energy -but it’s still not enough. The body gets the rest of its energy from breaking down the amino acids in muscle tissue, which are used by the liver to make more glucose for energy.

After this process, ketone production is sufficient enough to provide almost all of the energy the body needs, and the body begins to conserve large amounts of protein. The body is capable of preserving this protein to protect muscle tissue and vital organs from damage during long periods of food deprivation. After prolonged fasts of more than a week, the body starts seeking out non-body protein sources of fuel, which include nonessential cellular masses like degenerative tissues, bacteria, viruses or anything else in the body that can be used for fuel.

The conservation of the body’s protein is believed by many to be an evolutionary development that exists to protect muscle tissue and vital organs from damage during periods of insufficient food availability.

When you fast, just like when you sleep, the body is focused on the removal of toxins and the regeneration of damaged tissue.

What Modern Day Science Tells Us About Fasting

The benefits of fasting have been outlined in numerous scientific studies.  Studies show that short term fasting can extend your life span, boost immunity and regenerate stem cells. The list goes on and on.

One of the most recent studies published on the subject was in June of this year, in the Journal Cell Stem Cell. It found that fasting 2-4 days at a time can actually cause a reduction in white blood cells. This means that fasting kills off old and damaged immune cells, and when the body rebounds it uses stem cells to create brand new, completely healthy cells. (1)
“Fasting is the greatest remedy, the physician within.”- Philippus Paracelsus, one of the three fathers of Western medicine

The study was actually conducted using human clinical trials on patients who were receiving chemotherapy, where fasting was effective in fighting cancer.
“During each cycle of fasting, this depletion of white blood cells induces changes that trigger stem cell-based regeneration of new immune system cells. Prolonged fasting also lowered levels of IGF-1, a growth-factor hormone that has been linked to aging, tumor progression and cancer risk.” (1)

“Chemotherapy causes significant collateral damage to the immune system. The results of this study suggest that fasting may mitigate some of the harmful effects of chemotherapy.”(1) - Co-Author Tanya Dorff

“We could not predict that prolonged fasting would have such a remarkable effect in promoting stem cell-based regeneration of the heatopoietic system. When you starve, the system tries to save energy, and one of the things it can do to save energy is to recycle a lot of the immune cells that are not needed, especially those that may be damaged.  What we started noticing in both our human work and animal work is that the white blood cell count goes down with prolonged fasting. Then when you re-feed, the blood cells come back. ”(1) - Valter Longo, corresponding author

A scientific review of multiple scientific studies regarding fasting was published in The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition in 2007. It examined a multitude of human and animal studies, and determined that fasting is an effective way to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease and cancer. It also showed significant potential in treating diabetes. (2)

The study concluded that fasting:
“May effectively modulate metabolic and functional risk factors, thereby preventing or delaying the future occurrence of common chronic diseases.” (2)

Scientists at the National Institute on Aging, led by Mark Mattson, a professor at the school of medicine has published several papers that discuss how fasting twice a week could significantly lower the the risk of developing both Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s disease. (3)

He explains how fasting stimulates two messaging chemicals that operate at the cellular level and are key to the growth of brain cells in both animals and humans. The shock of fasting leads the brain to create new brain cells, neurons are forced to grow and the brain becomes more resistant to protein plaques that are seen in cases of Alzheimer’s, or the damage created by Parkinson’s.
“Dietary changes have long been known to have an effect on the brain. Children who suffer from epileptic seizures have fewer of them when placed on caloric restriction or fasts. It is believed that fasting helps kick-start protective measures that help counteract the overexcited signals that epileptic brains often exhibit. (Some children with epilepsy have also benefited from a specific high-fat, low-carbohydrate diet) Normal brains, when overfed, can experience another kind of uncontrolled excitation, impairing the brain’s function, Mattson and another researcher reported in January in the journal Nature Reviews Neuroscience.” (3)

Scientists are continuing to uncover evidence that short term fasting could achieve a number of health benefits. Despite this evidence, current medical opinion remains unchanged, because there are many human studies that indicate a diet of at least 2000 calories a day is the best option.

Fasting As A Spiritual Practice

As mentioned earlier, fasting has been practiced for thousands of years by various cultures all over the world. Seen as not only beneficial to health, but beneficial to the soul, as it is often done to intensify our connection to source, God, the creator or whatever you want to call it.  This is why it’s described  in various religions, texts, ancient civilizations and native american traditions. I won’t go into detail here, as that is a completely separate topic. It’s not hard to find more information on it if you do some research yourself.
“Fasting will bring spiritual rebirth to those of you who cleanse and purify your bodies. The light of the world will illuminate within you when you fast and purify yourself. What the eyes are for the outer world, fasts are for the inner.” - Mahatma Gandhi

My experience with fasting started approximately 10 years ago. I started practicing it to lose weight at first, more concerned with my appearance than anything else, it worked tremendously. But then something happened, it started to feel really good, I felt really light and more connected to my soul. I received bursts of energy quite often.

Eating was such a censorial experience, a censorial pleasure, a normal part of my human experience. Completely depriving myself of this pleasure allowed me to connect with myself on a spiritual level even more, and after I did the scientific research, I realized that it was quite normal to feel completely rejuvenated, energized and healthy.  The fact that it was an ancient spiritual practice drew me into it even more, given the fact that science (more so quantum physics) is now catching on to concepts that were already known thousands of years ago. I fast quite often, and it is really (for me) an invigorating process that assists me in maintaining a completely peaceful state, which I feel is my most natural state. For me, it just feels right and since I have been incorporating it into my life for 10 years now, my body is quite used to it.

Other Factors To Consider

***When you are coming out of a fast, it’s important to do your research on how to best break it. It’s not something you want to rush into, you don’t want to stuff yourself with food after. You want to ease your body back into the transition of consuming food with fruits and vegetables.

If you are going to do a water fast, it’s best to make sure your water is completely purified.

This Is What Sitting for Too Long Can Do to Your Body

This Is What Sitting for Too Long Can Do to Your Body

[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="636"]What Sitting for Too Long Can Do to Your Body What Sitting for Too Long Can Do to Your Body[/caption]

With the continuous progress of technology, we need to put less and less effort to get the things done. And it’s not only about jobs which are getting more and more computerized every day; it’s about our lifestyle in general.

If in the recent past we had to wash the dishes and clean the floor ourselves, now there are people who have a dishwasher and a robotic vacuum cleaner which can do that for us. I’m not saying it’s bad to take advantage of the privileges of technology (I’m a fan of technology myself), but the problem is that, as a result, there are those of us who sometimes tend to avoid physical activity and end up sitting for more hours a day than our parents and grandparents did.

Let’s take a look at some statistics. Approximately 80% of the Americans use the Internet on a daily basis, and there is at least one computer in 90 % of the homes. Of course, it’s not only about the Internet usage or home computers. Imagine how many Americans do office jobs that require sitting in a chair for at least eight hours a day.

The real problem is that even after a long working day, many people continue spending their free time in front of a screen, watching TV, playing video games, browsing the Internet or chatting with friends online.

[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="1137"]What Sitting for Too Long Can Do to Your Body What Sitting for Too Long Can Do to Your Body[/caption]

So when it comes to health problems, the statistics show that 40% of people who suffer from back issues tend to spend long hours sitting at the computer. You may think that back problems are the only major consequence of a sedentary lifestyle. Unfortunately, it’s not that simple, and recent research reveals that too much sitting is linked to a number of health problems, including obesity, heart disease and diabetes.

Here is an infographic that explains the health problems associated with spending too much time in a chair. There are some recommendations on the proper sitting position and exercises too.

I hope this information will help those who sit for many hours a day improve their lifestyle.

Most of the people are unaware of how onions are effective in promoting hair growth. Onions have rich sulfur content in them. Onion juices when applied on the scalp alone or in combination with other hair loss remedies can improve the blood circulation to the scalp. Sulfur also improves the production of collagen tissues which is necessary for the growth of hair.

Hair grows from the hair follicles in the scalp and increased blood supply to the scalp brings better nutrients and nourishment to the follicles and promotes hair growth. The sulfur content in the juice also has anti-bacterial properties and prevents the growth of fungi and bacteria on the scalp which reduces the chances of losing hair due to these infections. Onion juice increases the strength of the hair and prevents thinning and breakage. You can achieve improved volume to your hair by regularly applying the onion juice on the scalp.

To achieve hair growth with the help of onion juice you need to extract the juice of the onions and apply it on the scalp thoroughly. Though, the juice has a pungent smell, the remedy is highly effective in achieving the results you need. You need to keep the juice on the scalp for at least 30 minutes. You can keep it for longer if you will be able to bear the smell of the juice. Rinse off the juice using water and mild shampoo. You will have to repeat this remedy at least three times a week for at least two months to see the results.

So when you’re cooking at home, you want to be sure to rupture those cell walls in those garlic cloves using your preferred method. But don’t just toss that minced allium sativum into your pot or pan. Turns out heat neutralizes the health-giving benefits of allicin.

A 2001 study by K. Song and J.A. Milner showed that heating, microwaving, or boiling crushed garlic destroyed all the alliinase enzyme activity within it. However, most dishes call for cooked garlic rather than raw.

In order to preserve some of allicin’s healing properties, many scientists suggest chopping or dicing your garlic, then letting it stand for ten minutes to let the alliinase do its work and form as much allicin as possible before it’s neutralized by heat. So the next time you’re cooking, be sure to mince your garlic first thing, then let it stand. By the time you’re done getting the rest of your ingredients ready, those crushed cloves will have a lot of allicin moving around in their cells.

Fecal deposits, mucus, parasites and toxic buildups can happen in the intestines and cause diseases if something isn’t done.

About 40,000 liters of liquid pass through the intestines and more than 100 tons of food pass through the intestines in our lifetime. So, our intestines accumulate about 40 pounds of toxic waste and fecal deposits that can poison the blood and cause our body to be damaged. The colon doesn’t work properly if there is a buildup of toxins in the intestines.

This remedy can help with blocked intestines. The flaxseed in this recipe will help with the cleansing and preserve the intestinal microflora. This recipe will normalize your weight, enables fat burning and regulates the lipid metabolism. The flaxseed flour absorbs and effectively eliminates toxins in the body and reduces cholesterol levels.

This remedy helps with inflammation, colitis, gastritis, stomach ulcers, diseases of the urinary tract, cystitis, pyelonephritis, overweight, and improper lipid metabolism. For this remedy, you should make your own flaxseed flour instead of buying it. Make a new mixture every morning and eat the mixture in place of your regular breakfast.

Week 1: 1 tbsp. flaxseed flour and 100 ml kefir

Successful Safe Liver Cleanse in 24 Hours – Get Rid Of Over 1000 Liver Stones (Literally)

Successful Safe Liver Cleanse in 24 Hours – Get Rid Of Over 1000 Liver Stones (Literally)Liver cleansing can dramatically improve digestion. You may even experience the disappearance of allergies, pain in shoulders, upper arm and the upper back.

Liver stones are formed when there is an excess amount of cholesterol in the body. When excess dietary cholesterol is present, the remainder often crystallizes into small, pebble-shaped massed. Researchers at the University of Bonn in Germany has discovered that heredity can be a contributing factor to this condition. Scientists believe that they have isolated a gene in the body that can greatly increase a person’s chances of developing liver and/or gallstones.

The liver is responsible for the production of bile in the body. The biel is an essential secretion for breaking down digested lipids into smaller particles so that fats and fat-soluble vitamins can be absorbed by the small intestine. Bile is made from water, electrolytes, and other molecules that include cholesterol, bilirubin, bile acids, and phospholipids. Adults can produce between 400-800 ml of bile a day and it is stored in the gallbladder until it is needed. The liver also works as a filter which detoxes the body and gets rid of harmful chemicals and toxins.

What you need:

– 8 teaspoons unrefined Epsom salt
– 1 cup cold pressed olive oil
– 2-3 small fresh squeezed grapefruits
– Cup with a lid

Directions:

To purify the body, you need to choose a day where you don’t have a lot going on. The day before your cleanse don’t take medications, vitamins or minerals in tablet form, these prevent the cleanse from working. For breakfast and lunch eat foods that don’t have a lot of fats. These foods will increase pressure in the bile duct that is located in the liver, which will lead to disposal of more gallstones.

When to take it:
– 2pm: Stop eating and drinking after 2pm. prepare the salt mix by mixing the salt in 6 cups of water into a bottle. You should 4 doses.
– 6pm: Drink ¼ of the cold solution.
– 8pm: drink the second dose.

Flushing Drinkers Have Higher Risk of Having a Heart Attack and Stroke

Flushing Drinkers Have Higher Risk of Having a Heart Attack and StrokePeople whose face turns red when they drink should pay attention to their blood pressure. They can have a higher risk of developing high blood pressure when they drink alcohol.

The flushing of the face may happen when someone consumes alcohol, and this can be a sign that the body doesn’t process acetaldehyde, the poisonous substance in alcohol, very well. This substance is made when the alcohol in the body breaks down by an enzyme that is known as alcohol dehydrogenase. It will increase blood pressure and raise your risk of heart attack.

Scientists from South Korea confirmed this in a study. The study contained 1,763 individuals, 288 non-drinkers, 527 flush drinkers, and 948 non-flushing drinkers. “Even though until now it was considered only an unpleasant consequence of drinking alcohol, or an alcohol allergy, the flush on one’s face can as well be an indicator of high blood pressure in the blood vessels, which in the end can result in either a stroke or a heart attack.”

When the age, BMI, exercise status and smoking status was considered, the risk of hypertension was increased in flush drinkers when they consumed more than 4 drinks a week. But, non-flush drinkers risk was increased by consuming more than 8 drink a week. These results can serve as a marker for risk for hypertension that is associated with alcohol consumption, which allows doctors o edit advice about drinking.

So, if you’re worried about your blood pressure, maybe you should steer clear of the beer and stick to water. If you get flushed when you drink, you should be concerned about your health. If you can avoid a health problem, you should.

12 Symptoms of Gluten Sensitivity You Probably Didn’t Know About

[caption width="560" align="alignnone"]12 Symptoms of Gluten Sensitivity You Probably Didn’t Know About 12 Symptoms of Gluten Sensitivity You Probably Didn’t Know About[/caption]
One of the dietary buzzwords these days that gets used in and out of context is “gluten”. So let’s talk about gluten, and how to know if you really have a sensitivity to it.

First off, gluten is not the same thing as “carbs”. Gluten is a protein found in cereal grains, especially wheat. There are breads, cereals, and pastas that are all gluten-free, so as mentioned, don’t confuse gluten with carbohydrates. It is important to understand what gluten is, so that if you do have an intolerance to it – you can know to avoid it.

People who are intolerant to gluten have a hard time digesting it, which causes your body to not be able to absorb other key nutrients in your food. Gluten intolerance has been linked to a long list of medical conditions. Normally, the only time gluten intolerance is paid attention to is when someone is diagnosed with celiac disease, which is a severe form of gluten intolerance that can actually lead to death. Millions of people suffer from milder symptoms of gluten intolerance, and go undiagnosed.

Here are 12 Symptoms that you might have a gluten intolerance:

1. Digestive Issues:
The most obvious signs of gluten sensitivity are digestive issues after eaten gluten. This includes bloating, gas, abdominal pain, and irritable bowel syndrome.

2. Mood Swings:
Gluten sensitivity can cause unstable emotional health like depression, anxiety, and sudden drastic swings in mood.

3. Brain Fog
Gluten intolerance can have negative effects on the brain such as dizziness, lack of focus, trouble balancing, and tingling sensations.

4. Headaches
Gluten intolerance can cause headaches and even migraines.

5. Fatigue
People with gluten sensitivities may experience abnormal fatigue throughout the day, even without doing anything physically or mentally exhausting.

6. Auto-Immune Conditions in the Skin
Gluten sensitivities can cause auto-immune conditions like eczema and psoriasis to worsen.

7. Fibromyalgia
According to some physicians, fibromyalgia (skeletal pain and weakness), in which inflammation and pain can occur virtually anywhere on the body, could actually be a symptom of gluten intolerance.

8. Hormonal Imbalance
A difficulty processing gluten can cause issues with hormone balance, resulting in worsened PMS. Gluten sensitivity may also be a cause of inexplicable infertility.

9. Keratosis Pilaris
Gluten intolerance can also cause rough discolored bumps and hardened skin around the thighs, arms, and cheeks knows as Keratosis Pilaris. This happens when gluten intolerance damages the stomach

10. Joint pain and inflammation.
Gluten sensitivity can cause constant joint pain, inflammation, and swelling

11. Impacts to Immune System
Because gluten affects your digestive system, it affects your immune system, because 80% of your immune system is in your gut.

12. Dental Issues

Gluten intolerance can lead to tooth decay, tooth cracks, and gum problems. All are conditions impacted by inflammation in the body.
Testing for a gluten intolerance is not standardized, unless you have full-blown celiac disease. The best method for testing whether or not you have a gluten intolerance is exclusion dieting. Pay attention to your food labels, and look for “gluten-free” sections at your grocery store. Because non-gluten dieting is so popular, chances are that gluten-free foods will be readily labeled.
