Wu Hsia, 21, had organized a meeting with both his girlfriend and his ex. He wanted to put an end once and for all to the constant back and forth bickering which was going on. Well, needless to say, the situation went from bad to worse.
The man quickly found himself in a pickle. Both women decided to throw themselves into a river to find out which one would be saved first and thus this would prove to be Wu’s true love.
Wu had broken up with his long-term girlfriend Jun Tang, 20, when he had met a new love, 22-year-old Rong Tsao who he was now with. For three months the jilted Jun tried to convince Wu to get back with her. Wu decided on the meeting with the three of them which would hopefully end things once and for all.
Wu said: “I was sick of being nagged from both sides.
“Rong was moaning about Jun and Jun was moaning about her and it all got too much.”
They got together at a spot in Ningbo, the eastern China’s Zhejiang province, and that is when the situation became dire.
A police spokesman said: “The girls began arguing and the man’s ex-girlfriend felt insulted by a comment made by the new girlfriend, and so she jumped into the river calling for her former lover to save her.
“The new girlfriend, fearing that he might indeed jump in to save his ex-lover, then jumped in as well and both of them began calling for him to rescue them from drowning.”
Wu decided to jump in the water. Which girl did he save and take to the hospital? His current girlfriend.
The police spokesman added: “He called his brother on the way home and told him to go to the river and rescue the ex-girlfriend.”
